I hide in this thicket but I heard an ululation and they burned it down. There was a cordon of people around me until I got out. Sam n Eric gave me meat thankfully because I could of died if I don't get food. They didn't try to diddle me and get me caught. Jack had forced Sam n Eric to their tribe and where going to torture them. Roger prepared a two sided spear for my head. They were going to burn down my hiding spot do get me out. I was running from Jack's tribe and I tripped. I saw a military uniform. I was going to be saved I thought. I started crying in happiness. Jack and his tribe follow me and they see the naval officer also. Then Percival forgot his own name when he was trying to tell the officer. I take full responsibility for what happened on the island because I was the leader. The naval officer was disappointed because he saw how little boy were killing them selves.

Lord of the Flies Chapter 11

1.Piggy wants Ralph to blow the conch to start an assembly.

2. Piggy wants to go to Jacks tribe and kindly ask for his glasses back.

3. Ralph wanted them to go cleaned and dressed nicely.

4. Roger challenged the boys truculently and had a sense of delirious so he used all his weight on the lever.

5. Jack was out hunting for pigs before he came back to Castle Rock.

6. Ralph call Jack a thief which gets Jack mad and they begin to fight.

7. Sam n Eric are forced to switch tribes so now they are with Jack.

8. Roger kept mocking and throwing rocks at Piggy when he was talking.

9.What happened was that while piggy was holding the talisman he was saying that they needed to get off the island and he needed his glasses. All of the hunters and Jack were throwing rocks at him. Piggy was try to was reassured by the cessation of the violence. Then Roger push at rock off the cliff and it struck Piggy. Piggy fell 40ft into the ocean. I feel that it was Roger's and Jack's fault for Piggy's death. I think this because if Jack never split up the group this would of never happen. I also think Roger was the reason was because he actually hit Piggy with the rock which killed him.

The Shells and the Glasses
Perspective: Simon's Ghost

Dear ghostly diary,
Today I was watching over my group. I saw Ralph and Piggy talking about what happened in my death. I can not believe that pig said it was an accident. I think they did it on purpose because he wanted to show that his group is better and if you don't join you will die. I also think they should of avenged my death and go kill Jack.
I know that is not what they are going to do because they are good people and will never do bad. After listening to them I went to see what Jack and his tribe were doing. Some of the rules I heard was that someone has to guard the fort and that they need to sacrifice meat for the beast. Jack also beat up this one kid named Wilfred for no apparent reason. He told Maurice and Roger to raid Ralph’s camp to obtain more fire and that they will hunt again tomorrow. Later on Jack and his tribe ran to Ralph's camp and started to assault.
The boys didn't know why because they were willing to share the fire. Instead Jack steals Piggy's glasses and run off. Piggy starts to cry because he is no use anymore. He can not see and they can't make a fire. So now Piggy and Ralph are wanting to walk to Jack's tribe to ask for the glasses back.

A View to the Death
The scene when the Lord of the Flies talks to and threatens Simon.

Simon was running through the forest and he met up with this pig head on a spear. Jack cuts the pigs head off and puts it on a spear. He left it there for a sacrifice for the beast. Simon see's a illusion which makes him think that the pigs head was talking. There were a bunch of flies around the pig. Therefore the pig head is The Lord of the Flies. The pig head laughs at Simon. He also told Simon that they can't kill him because he was inside all of them. Lord of the Flies is the fear and evil inside everyone. Lord of the Flies actually told Simon that he will die. Simon found out that there wasn't really a beast and so he was going to tell the others. Simon runs off through the forest to tell the other but then Jack killed him.

Claim: I believe that Jack is the reason of Simons death.
Concrete Detail: I think that Jack is the reason for Simons death because he could of told his tribe to stand down but he didn't. As a chief he should of saw who it was instead of going off of instinct and killing it. Jack was also chanting kill the beast! cut his throat! spill his throat!
Commentary: I feel that the chant Jack was saying means that he was apart of the killing because first he was using his spear and stabbing Simon and since he is the leader he should of known.
Conclusion: I believe that Jack murdered Simon. He is guilty and needs to be punished for his sins.

Perspective: Simon

What is the game the boys play after spearing the pig?
The boys start a skit of what happened when killing the pig. Robert was very impervious so he got on his hands and feet while the boys where chasing him. They pretended stabbing him by using the back of there spears. I would of just wanted to play rugger instead.

Who spears the pig? Ralph spears the pig sagely but it runs away. He doesn't kill it he just wounds it. Ralph I think should be bravado and killed the pig.
Describe the mood of the boys afterward.
Afterward the boys felt dun. The boys calmed down a bit.

Jack suggests, “You could get someone to dress up as a pig and then he could act, you know, pretend to knock me over and all that.” Robert said that they need a real pig because it has to be killed. What does Jack suggest as a substitute? Jack suggest to use one of the littleuns to be a substitute for Robert.

What does this foreshadow?
This foreshadows that there will be neglect and attack.

What evidence did the boys find to prove that there is a beast? (Why are they so gullible?)
The boys are so gullible because they actually believe Sam n' Eric when they saw the aviator. I don't believe this at all because of the way they described it.

Why do you only have “one eye”?
Jack was very waxy today. He was flailing his arm and hitting me a bunch of times. Then there was one hit that knocked my specs of my face. I starting crying because now I can't do anything. I don't have my mom, dad, or auntie to fix them for me. I hate being the one embroiled into the group conflict because I am always getting hurt.

What sign comes down from the grown up world?

That there was a pilot in his parachute dangling dead in the trees.

Why aren’t the boys aware of it?
The boys are not aware of the pilot because they all thought they were the only ones there.

Why are Sam ‘n Eric so terrified?
Sam 'n Eric is terrified because they haven't seen anything like that. I think that the first time they glanced at it they didn't really take time to look and see what it was.

How do Sam ‘n Eric describe the beast?
They said that it had wings. They also said that they had some fangs. I think they are just terrified to much and they are making this stuff up to scare us.

What is the attitude of the boys when going off to look for the beast?
I think Jack wanted to do it diffidently, but his hunters didn't. I think his hunters just did it because Jack wanted to. The hunters where mutinously pushed to go with Jack to hunt.

Is there really a beast? How do you know?
No, there isn't really a beast it was just a dead person. I know this because Sam 'n Eric said they saw it but it was really just a human.

CHAPTER 5: Beast From Water
"The Discussion"
Perspective: Ralph

Dear Journal,
Today I called a meeting to get everyone back in line. I thought it was ludicrous how no one was doing what they were told. First of all Jack just lost the chance we had to be rescued by not keeping the fire up. Then all of the littleuns where pooping next to the fruits and poisoning them so no one can eat them now. Someone was also supposed to fill up the coconuts with clean water. So I had to call a meeting, we need to get back in order. I blow the conch and all of the boys come for the meeting. I tell them how they are failing to keep the groups rules. I also tell them what jobs are not being done and that needs to be done. I tell then why we needed to have the fire and its not all just about hunting. Then the discussion about the beastie comes up. One of the littleuns says that it might come from the water this night. So now all of the littleuns are scare. Jack told them that if there was any beast he would go hunt it. Jack and I had a little fight and he was being decorum. The assembly now becomes discursive. The meeting has become chaos. The littleuns starts lamentation. Jack smile very jeeringly while taking his boys into the jungle. Me, Piggy, and Simon were the only boys left in the assembly so Piggy told me to blow the conch to see if the boys would come back. I told him no because I thought the boys wouldn’t come. I told Piggy that I was going to give up my leadership. I think it’s too hard to control people. Piggy told me not to because then everyone would be like animals. There would be no rules and I since Jack hates me something bad is going to happen. We go to sleep and then a cry from a littlun echoes through the beach.

CHAPTER 4: PAINTED FACES AND LONG HAIR
"Death of the Pig"
Perspective: Jack

Dear Journal,
Today was an awesome day. This day was way harder to live in this island then it is in England. Then the littleuns don’t even do anything. They just play and eat fruit. The littleuns where very blatant. I think they should do something instead of letting us four boys do everything. Today was the day I was going to kill a pig. I needed to feel powerful in the group and also important. So I put war paint on my face. I thought the reason why I couldn’t catch the pig was because he can smell me. I was going to be as belligerence as I can to kill that pig. My boys and I went out hunting. I saw a dark shadow the crept beneath Roger’s swarthiness skin. There was the pig running with his friends. One got hit by the spear and ran back. My hunters and I got into a circle and moved in on it. I was having them chant, “Kill the pig. Cut her throat.” We get back to the camp and Ralph and Piggy tell me that they see a ship and we need to go and see if the fire is still going. First piggy starts complaining about me and my hunter’s maturity. So I slap him in the face and his specs fly off and break. While he was going to get them Simon got them for him. I grabbed them and look at me malevolently. It like Piggy is impalpable when people touch him. He is one of the biggest babies I have ever seen. We run to the fire and we found out that is it down. Ralph goes ballistic and starts yelling at me. He tells me that it was my fault because it was my responsibility. I apologize for that but I didn’t want to apologize to Piggy. Ralph gets Piggy’s specs and starts to make the fire again. We roast the pig that I got and of course there was a problem. I didn’t give any of it to Piggy because I didn’t think he deserved it, but Simon is so nice and he gives his to Piggy. So I take some of the meat and throw it at Piggy and told him to eat it. Ralph then has declared that there was going to be another meeting.

Dear Journal, Today was one of those days when you think no one can see you. As in the way that no one is listening to you. Today we had jobs. Some of the jobs were building the shelter and hunting for meat. I got the building the shelter job with Ralph. We are building this shelter so that the little kids can live in. Jack and his hunters got the hunting group. Jack and his hunting group set out into the wood to look for some meat. Ralph was getting really upset because every time we got the hut up it would fall. Ralph and I had a whole lot of vicissitudes. This is because only I help him out and none of the other boys did. I was getting a little upset also because the littleuns where just swimming and Piggy was know where to be found. While Jack was in the forest the pigs feet made a castanet sound. Jack went to go catch it but he failed. When Jack and his hunters came back we were starved. So wondering where the meat was he says he did capture the pig. Ralph gazed at Jacks bewildered rapt face. I could tell now he was really up set. Ralph tells Jack about some stuff he was concerned in like what if the little ones can’t sleep tonight because they have a nightmare. I thought he was going to make up an excuse like the cave we were in was opaque and I couldn’t see anything, but he didn’t. Now Jack is going crazy because he really want to catch a pig before he gets rescued. They are thinking of ways how they can be more successfully when they see another pig. Jack now doesn’t care about what Ralph is thinking. Ralph gets mad at Jack and thinks that they are using hunting duties to get away from doing work. I don’t get why Jack doesn’t have a contrite face. He should say he is sorry or something.

Fire on the Mountain
"Beastie?"
Perspective: Piggy

Dear Journal,
Today was another bad day on this rediculous island. I think somebody should knock Jack in the head with that conch. He is always telling me to shut up. I had the conch in my hand and that means only I can talk and he still tells me to shut up, but thanks to Ralph for backing me up. I sometimes wonder if Jack is errant to his parents. Anyways, we met this martyred kid with a mulberry mark on his face. He thinks he saw some snake thing called a beastie the night before. But to keep us from being frighten the older kids told us he just had a nightmare. Which now I bet I will be very scared when I go to bed. Thanks to Ralph and his good ideas he told us to make fire and the way you do that is first to get a fire. He thinks that his dad my come or some ships might come to rescue them. Everybody was capering so they ran to the center of the mountain, but like my childish and stupidity ways I start to whine of virtuous recrimination. The boys gather up some dead wood and used my lenses to make a fire. They got a big fire but it died down fast. So I tried to motivate them by telling them that if you want to get of the island you need to work harder. So Ralph told me to come up where he was and he pinch my specks. I wasn’t very happy that he did that. Jack then says that him and his hunter group were going to be responsible for the fire. I get angry because of the groups reckless disorganization and tell them that one of the littlest boys was playing by the fire. It was the little boy that was talking about the beastie.

The Sound of the Shell
"The Beginning?"
Perspective: Ralph
Dear Journal, Today was a pretty good day. I first landed on this island and met some new people. But some of them weren’t so friendly. The person that I first met was this kid named Piggy. I don’t really now his real name. He is big boned and he wears glasses. He also has something called ass-mar. Then there was this kid name Jack. He tried to use is effulgence to get everybody to vote for him to be the leader of the group. But it didn’t work, I still won. I think he tried to use his glamour also. But I think he has a little enormity in him. I don’t know why he didn’t even kill the pig. I think he was a bit scared but we will see next time. He is kind of a jerk because he told Piggy to shut up then called him fat. Then there was Simon. I think he is kind of weird kid. He faints a bit much. We decided that all of us except Piggy to go find out where we were. I should of gave a proffer so that Piggy can come along because he is apart of the group and he was with me from the beginning. As we were going through the jungle, I should of thought to leave traces behind just incase we got lost. While we were walking there, I saw great fronds everywhere. We came I am glad that they chose me to be leader because I can give them the brilliance I have. And I can show them the great survival skills I have. Also use my strength to get through the obstacles.
